Why Tiger Aviation

Small enough to know your training. Structured enough to take it seriously.

Tiger Aviation is a small flight school based at Columbus Airport (CSG) and serving Columbus and Auburn-area students.

You won't be handed between instructors or start each lesson explaining where you left off. We know what happened on your last flight, what you are struggling with, what you are doing well, and exactly what should happen next.

Your instructor knows where you left off.

Continuity is part of the training. Your instructor remembers your last lesson, knows what has already been taught, and plans the next flight around it.

Airplane time is expensive. We treat it that way.

Flight training is expensive. We know that because we went through it too. Anything that can be learned on the ground gets taught on the ground, every flight has a clear objective, and if something is not clicking, we figure out why instead of just billing you to fly it again.

We teach you to understand the airplane.

Memorized answers can pass a checkride. Understanding is what keeps you safe after it. We teach what is happening to the airplane, why we respond the way we do, and what happens if we don't, so you can make good decisions when nobody is sitting beside you.

Rates

What it costs.

You pay for the airplane, the instructor, and fuel at actual cost. Nothing else.

Aircraft rental

$115/hour

Our Piper Warrior, billed on the Hobbs meter. This is a dry rate: fuel is billed separately at what it actually costs, not folded into a padded hourly number.

Flight & ground instruction

$55/hour

One rate for instruction, in the airplane or on the ground. No club membership, no insurance surcharge, no fee for the briefing before and after your flight.

Discovery flight

$150 flat

30 minutes of flight time and about two hours with an instructor. No commitment attached. It is the best way to find out if flying is for you.
